A107We all have problems from time to time, sometimes minor, sometimes more serious. Often we can cope on our own or with the support of family and friends.  On other occasions we might find it useful to consult a professional for help and guidance in dealing with issues that are causing us great distress, seem out of control, or threaten to overwhelm us.

I am a highly qualified and experienced counselling psychologist specialising in cognitive behaviour therapy, couple counselling and sexual and relationship therapy. I have over twenty years experience of providing psychological therapy and counselling in both private practice and for the NHS. I am a trained and experienced supervisor for mental health professionals working with both trainees and experienced colleagues. I have a wide range of experience delivering training in CBT and couple therapy for a range of organisations such as Tavistock Relationships and the University of Exeter.

I work with people aged 18 and over and I am happy to see individuals and couples. I offer either in-person appointments at my rooms in Bishopston, Bristol, or remote sessions using Zoom. The issues I commonly work with include depression and anxiety, including panic disorder (PD), specific phobias and agoraphobia, generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety (SA), health anxiety (HA) and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). I am also experienced in working with people who have long-term health conditions, such as chronic pain or chronic fatigue, and with medically unexplained symptoms. I also work with more general trauma and issues arising from childhood neglect or abuse, as well as problems with emotional intensity, grief, relationship issues, stress management, workplace problems, substance abuse problems, and interpersonal difficulties, including offering assertiveness training.

I offer couple therapy to address common relationship issues including conflict, emotional distance, and infidelity. I also work with individuals and couples on psychosexual issues including problems such as mismatch in sexual desire, low desire, rapid ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, difficulties with achieving orgasm, sexual pain, and issues of sexuality or gender.

Please contact me if you have any questions or you’d like to discuss the possibility of making an appointment and for details of my fees and availability.  I look forward to hearing from you.
