Body Centred Psychotherapy relieves distress or tension.

Having studied therapies since 1996 the most effective way I have found for relieving physical tension coupled with emotional distress is Body Centred Psychotherapy.

This is therapy that includes the body, as well as that which other counselling approaches focus on (the mind, emotions and behaviour), and works to relieve emotional distress through the body's experience.

As all forms of psychotherapeutic theory suggest, unresolved issues manifest as problems, which may appear as anxiety, stress, anger, sadness, fear, illness, physical pain, relationship problems, imobilisation, dissociation, panic attacks, inability to focus.

Body-Oriented Psychotherapy is based on the notion that the mind and body function as one.

Recent research supports the idea that the mind resides throughout the body and that every cell stores information and communicates with other cells (see www.eabp.org)

Body Centred Psychotherapy explores the relationship between the various levels of experience (cognitive, emotional, physical and energetic).

This will enable you to know your own strengths, resources, boundaries, limits and desires. Which, in turn, will help you to move forward with confidence.

I have been training in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and working to emotionally support and counsel people since 1996. My Counselling and Psychotherapy work has been with adults and children of all ages, individually, in families, and in couple and group therapy.
